In addition to the demonstrations at Twelve Corners, there will be activities in September.

Stay tuned... I'll put information up as soon as I get it.

Labor Day Parade

Get ready for the Labor Day Parade in downtown Rochester!

10am Assembly begins near Sibley Place on East Avenue

This is traditionally a labor/worker and union parade, celebrating the workers who produce what we wear, eat, drive..... and the rights that all workers deserve.

Often, there are additional parade entries. This year, Rochester Against War will also form a contingent. They will hold a sign-making session at the next RAW weekly meeting at noon, Sat. Sept. 1st at the Antiwar Crisis Center Storefront at 658 Monroe Ave (near Oxford)

Interactive Day of Action

Tuesday Aug. 28th
"all day" (no specific hours listed) with main event 6-8pm
12 Corners, Brighton

At the intersection of Monroe, Winton and Elmwood in Rochester:

On Tues. Aug. 28th MoveOn, in conjunction with AAEI-Americans Against Escalation in Iraq is holding events across the country to call attention to the upcoming Sept opportunity to change course in Iraq. This event hopes to send our representatives back to Washington with the clear message that the majority of their constituents want them to vote for that change.

So, our local event will be an all day Interactive Day of Action at 12 Corners, Brighton, building to a main event starting at 6 pm. From 6-8 pm we will having planned speakers and entertainment (perhaps street theater group and Grannies). This will also include a candle lit vigil, with people continually circling the gazebo to engage the public driving by.

All the Peace Groups in Rochester are invited and hopefully will be sponsoring
tables at the event.
